Prunus lusitanica ‘Myrtifolia’ (Portuguese Laurel) is a dense, evergreen shrub with glossy dark green leaves and striking red stems. It is widely used for formal hedging and screening, offering a neat, elegant appearance year-round along with small white flower clusters in summer.
Hardy and versatile, it grows well in sun or partial shade and tolerates pruning very well. It can reach a mature height of around 4–6 metres, but is typically maintained at 1.5–3 metres when used as a hedge.
