Picea rubens (Red Spruce) is a hardy evergreen conifer with a narrow, pyramidal form and short, dark green needles. It is valued for its dense habit, excellent cold tolerance, and ability to provide year-round structure in naturalistic and woodland plantings.
Slow-growing and long-lived, it thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers cool, moist, well-drained soils. It typically reaches a mature height of around 20–35 metres, making it suitable for large landscapes, reforestation, and shelterbelts.
