Morello

Prunus cerasus ‘Morello’ is a popular self-fertile sour cherry variety, valued for its reliable cropping, attractive spring blossom, and excellent culinary fruit. In spring, the tree is covered with masses of fragrant white flowers that attract bees and other pollinators. By mid to late summer, it produces abundant dark red cherries with a rich, sharp flavour, making them ideal for cooking, baking, jams, preserves, and juices. The fruit can also be enjoyed fresh by those who prefer a tart taste. Hardy and easy to grow, ‘Morello’ thrives in a sunny position with well-drained soil and is well suited to gardens, orchards, and trained forms against walls or fences. Its compact growth habit and dependable performance make it an excellent choice for both experienced and novice fruit growers.
