Prunus avium - wild cherry

Prunus avium ‘Early Rivers’ is a classic early-season sweet cherry variety, valued for its attractive blossom and delicious fruit. In spring, the tree produces an abundance of fragrant white flowers that brighten the garden and attract bees and other pollinators. One of the earliest cherries to ripen, it bears medium-sized, dark red fruits with tender, juicy flesh and a rich, sweet flavour, making them ideal for eating fresh straight from the tree. This vigorous and reliable variety performs best in a sunny, sheltered position with fertile, well-drained soil and benefits from a suitable pollination partner for the best yields. With its ornamental appeal and early harvest, ‘Early Rivers’ is an excellent addition to gardens and orchards alike.
