Laurus nobilis (Bay Laurel) is a slow-growing evergreen shrub or small tree with glossy dark green aromatic leaves that are widely used in cooking. It also produces small yellowish-white flowers in spring, followed by dark berries.
Hardy and versatile, it thrives in full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil. It can be grown as a shrub, hedge, or trained into a small standard tree, typically reaching a mature height of around 3–8 metres depending on pruning and form.
