Pieris japonica (Japanese Andromeda) is a slow-growing evergreen shrub with glossy, leathery foliage and attractive clusters of bell-shaped flowers in spring. New growth often emerges in shades of red or bronze before maturing to deep green, providing year-round interest.
Fragrant spring flowers add subtle scent and ornamental value. Hardy and low maintenance, it prefers acidic, well-drained soil and partial shade. It typically reaches a mature height of around 1.5–3 metres, forming a neat, structured shape ideal for borders and woodland gardens.
