Crataegus laevigata - Double pink hawthorn

Crataegus laevigata 'Rosea Plena', commonly known as the Double Pink Hawthorn, is a stunning ornamental deciduous tree admired for its masses of double soft pink flowers that create a spectacular display in late spring. With its compact rounded shape and reliable performance, it is an excellent choice for gardens, parks, avenues and feature planting. During May, the branches become covered with clusters of beautiful rose-pink double blooms that are long-lasting and highly ornamental. Fresh green, deeply lobed foliage provides an attractive backdrop throughout summer before turning shades of yellow and bronze in autumn. Unlike the native hawthorn, this cultivar produces few or no berries, allowing all the emphasis to remain on its exceptional floral display. The Double Pink Hawthorn is hardy, easy to grow and thrives in most well-drained soils. It is tolerant of pollution, exposed conditions and urban environments, making it an excellent low-maintenance tree for both traditional and contemporary gardens.
