Sorbus aucuparia

Sorbus 'Sheerwater Seedling' is a superb upright ornamental rowan, valued for its elegant, narrow form and year-round seasonal interest. Its neat, columnar habit makes it an excellent choice for gardens where space is limited, as well as avenues, driveways, parks and urban landscapes. In late spring, clusters of creamy-white flowers appear across the canopy, attracting bees and other pollinating insects. These are followed in late summer by vibrant orange-red berries that provide an important food source for birds throughout autumn. The attractive green, pinnate foliage turns brilliant shades of golden yellow, orange and red before falling, creating a spectacular autumn display. Exceptionally hardy and easy to grow, Sheerwater Seedling tolerates a wide range of soils and growing conditions, including exposed and urban locations. Its upright shape requires little pruning and makes it ideal where a tall tree with a relatively narrow spread is desired.
