Prunus domestica subsp. insititia ‘Merryweather’ is a traditional damson variety known for its reliable cropping, attractive spring blossom and excellent culinary fruit. In spring, it produces masses of delicate white flowers that attract bees and other pollinators. By late summer, it bears abundant blue-purple fruits with a rich, sharp flavour, ideal for jams, jellies, chutneys, pies and preserves. Hardy and dependable, it is well suited to gardens, orchards and traditional fruit planting, offering both ornamental value and useful harvests year after year.
