A parametric sculpture that challenges traditional material hierarchy, combining timber and rammed earth in an innovative design. Suitable for display on tables, cabinets, or standalone on floors, it juxtaposes natural materials to create striking visual and tactile contrasts.
The timber structure suspends a rammed earth core, reversing conventional support systems where dense materials typically bear lighter ones. The balanced, symmetrical arrangement ensures stability while creating a dynamic suspension effect.
Shadows, voids and hierarchy play a crucial role — the timber's open design and central obelisk emphasise depth and frame the earthy mass. The rammed earth, layered in ascending dark tones, contrasts the warm hues and planed texture of the Iroko wood. Smooth yet gritty, the compacted earth reinforces its solid, grounded presence.
