The coral bark maple. Young stems glow vivid coral-red — at their most striking in winter when the tree is bare — while the fresh green spring foliage matures through summer and turns soft butter-yellow in autumn. Genuine year-round interest.
Upright and vase-shaped, slowly reaching 4m or so. Plant where low winter sun will catch the stems; sheltered, sun or part shade.
