Widely considered the finest Japanese maple for autumn colour — the large green summer leaves turn an almost luminous scarlet that few other trees can match. An old and much-loved cultivar with a broad, upright habit.
Reaches around 4m in time. Autumn colour is best with some sun; give shelter from cold or drying winds.
